About: Weston-super-Mare Rotary

Rotarians do lots of things in our local, national, and international community, but we don’t do it on our own.
There are more than 46,000 Rotary Clubs in all corners of the world. Each club operates a little differently, with different projects, communities, and ideas. However, we are all united in our goals to make the world a better place through community service, giving, and taking action.

Weston-super-Mare Rotary - Vision

Together, we see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change — across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.

Weston-super-Mare Rotary - Our Essence

Our essence statement originates from our vision and summarizes what Rotary is all about — leaders who come together, form relationships, and create positive change in communities at home and around the world. It also reflects the values that define Rotary: fellowship, integrity, diversity, and service and leadership.

Weston-super-Mare Rotary - Our Values

Our values as an organization represent our beliefs and determine our behavior. Our values are also the basis for the guiding principles that define Rotary. We bring our values to life by showing how we use them to improve lives in communities around the world.

Fellowship: We build lifelong relationships.

Integrity: We honour our commitments.

Diversity: We connect diverse perspectives.

Service and Leadership: We use our leadership skills and professional expertise to solve social issues in our communities.

Weston-super-Mare Rotary - Supporting Donate For Defib W-s-M Project

Weston-super-Mare Rotary kindly donated the funds for the life-saving defibrillator outside Revo Kitchen in Weston along the seafront working in association with Donate For Defib Weston-super-Mare Project.

"We are delighted to be working alongside Weston-super-Mare Rotary with our project. Each member is dedicated to providing a charitable spirit and service to the local community that we serve and the defibrillator that has been provided, will make a huge difference to the individuals who live and visit our great town of Weston-super-Mare".

Letter Of Support To Weston-super-Mare Rotary

"Last year, in response to the publicity surrounding fatalities in our area, and as part of our 'Rotary in Action' service to the community, we installed a defibrillator outside Revo. When we were actively looking at the various kits available, we realised that the Donate for Defib W-s-M Project could help us enormously. We now have a defib outside Revo and with their help, we intend to install a bleed kit there very soon".

Weston-super-Mare Rotary - From A Presidents Prospective

Helen Green, Weston-super-Mare Rotary – Presidents Prospective

Introduction:-

Being President of the Rotary Club of Weston Super Mare is an honour and a pleasure.  In the last month alone, we donated  £3,000 to some of our charities.

It’s not all hard work though.  At the beginning of the month, we enjoyed an evening meal at the “Ginger Pig”, followed by a show at the Playhouse and then later in the month,  we shared an American Supper while watching the “Fireworks at Sea”.

Our aim is to serve our community and with that in mind, we visited a youth program hoping to find a suitable candidate to sponsor for 5 days in the Breacon Beacons on an outdoor pursuits leadership course.

Upcoming events:-

Looking ahead, on 9th November, the day after Carnival, we are hosting our annual Charities Fayre in the Sovereign and the following day,  Remembrance Day, I will be laying a wreath in Grove Park

Everything we do depends on you and I would like to thank you for all the support you have given us in the past.  I hope to see you all in the Sovereign on 9th November.
