Donate For Defib W-s-M Project - Aims / Objectives

  • To work in partnership with Great Western Air Ambulance Charity (GWAAC).
  • Continue to raise awareness for the importance of early CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), the Chain of Survival, and the Donate For Defib W-s-M Project to the local community through social media, radio, newspapers, etc.
  • Assist with feedback and research to be collated with organisations such as NHS England and local Air Ambulances to raise awareness within their local communities and within the United Kingdom (UK).
  • Assist with and promote any research that may be needed regarding awareness of the publicaly accessible defibrillators and CPR.
  • Offer and deliver training in BLS and CPR to the community, as requested.
  • Raising awareness of the Resuscitation Council UK (RCUK), attending Conferences and enhancing the key aims of the clinical guidelines.  
  • Enable the estimated 103 restricted defibrillators to become more publicly accessible by liaising with venues / businesses that have restricted Defibrillators.
  • Assist venues to register defibrillators that are not registered with the ‘The Circuit’ (National Defibrillator Network).
  • Ensure collection buckets/tins are available for venues that want to fundraise as needed, Enthuse Pages and support with fundraising events.
  • Any enquires relating to publicly accessible defibrillators out of designated area signpost to the relevant person to deal with the enquiry, for example, our Defibrillator Supplier – Heartbeat Trust UK, http://www.heartbeattrustuk.co.uk/, for example (Devon, Cornwall, Wales, Hampshire, etc).
  • Liaise with an outside company regarding Major Haemorrhage Packs alongside the defibrillator cabinet locations if possible.
