Questionnaire On CPR / Early Defibrillators To Save More Lives!

CALLING ALL BRISTOL AND WESTON LOCALS

I’m a University of Bristol student currently completing my dissertation on the barriers to CPR and defibrillator use during cardiac arrests. I’m hoping to gather community insights to help improve public responses and confidence in emergency situations.

I’d really appreciate it if you could take just 4 minutes to complete our short survey. Every response makes a real difference.

I have attached the link below and the survey is completely anonymous and confidential.

Thank you so much for your time, your input will help improve public health initiatives across the community

Welcome To Our Brilliant Medical Students - Meet The Students

Sophie -
Biomedical Science Student

Sophie is a biomedical student at the University of Bristol. Throughout the degree, Sophie has particularly enjoyed exploring how biological mechanism translate into functional outcomes, which led her to specialise in pharmacology.

She is fascinated by how drugs interact with the body and how this knowledge can be used to improve treatments and patient outcomes. Sophie is excited to bring this scientific understanding to her work with Donate for Defib, contributing to the development of initiatives that enhance community health and access to life-saving equipment.

Outside of her studies, Sophie enjoys playing hockey, which allows her to stay active, work as part of a team and balance her academic life with something social and competitive.

Katrina -
Neuroscience Student

Katrina is a neuroscience student at the University of Bristol with a deep appreciation for the body’s interconnected systems, and the value of evidence-based, compassionate healthcare.

Through her work with Donate for Defib, she aims to translate scientific knowledge into meaningful action that improves lives. The project reflects her belief in the power of community engagement and medical understanding to save lives, reflecting her dedication to awareness and the pursuit of better health for all.

Furthermore, Katrina contributes to her university’s inclusion and wellbeing team, as part of her ongoing advocacy for equality and accessibility within healthcare.

Lucy -
Neuroscience Student

Lucy is a Neuroscience student at the University of Bristol with a keen interest in emergency and intensive care medicine.

Alongside her studies, she works as a Healthcare Assistant at the Bristol Royal Infirmary, where she regularly sees the impact of out-of-hospital cardiac arrests on patients and their families.

These experiences have inspired Lucy to get involved in community initiatives that improve survival and recovery outcomes.

Through her work with Donate for Defib, she hopes to help increase access to defibrillators and raise public awareness of lifesaving interventions, by using her scientific background to investigate the barriers to bystander CPR and AED use within the community and develop resources to overcome these’
