About Us

In 2016 Josh Badlam created Hibana Moto (Hibana meaning Spark in Japanese) he created the company as a sole trader working as a Vehicle Technician for Ssangyong, Mitsubishi, Toyota and Nissan at The Royal Portbury dock in North Somerset. Josh studied Light Vehicle Mechanics at City of Bristol College at Level 2.

Throughout the years Josh had been tinkering with cars both his, friends, family and customers! In 2019 Josh teamed up with his childhood best friend to create B&F Vehicles which in 2020 became registered as Hibana Automotive LTD. After a short spout of selling second hand cars Josh’s childhood friend left the business to pursue his passion in E-Bike design and Metal work. Josh took on the company himself and carried out minor repairs to vehicles in the Bristol Airport areas (mainly stranded passengers)

Josh shut down the Business a year later after pursuing other business options and concentrated more on the Airport.

In 2022-2023 Josh made a come back to the Automotive game and works on call for local Garage’s in Bristol, North Somerset and the Surrounding Areas.

On 01st August 2024 Josh dug up Hibana Automotive assets (not literally) after conversing with Friends, Partners and Supporters and created Badlam Automotive. After a year of operating under his Surname Badlam the company has changed its name to Phox Automotive, the reason for this name change was due to Family Issues with the name being used in certain garages. Phox derives from the word Fox the PH (pronounced F) is an inside joke with friends and PHOX being Josh Badlams nickname amongst a number of his friends due to his love for foxes.
